I-40 Traffic Cameras
290 live Interstate 40 highway cameras in driving order — Barstow, California to Wilmington, North Carolina, grouped by state.
I-40 crosses the country from Barstow to Wilmington, shadowing old Route 66 across Arizona and New Mexico before running through Amarillo, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville and the North Carolina piedmont. Its public camera coverage is the patchiest of the eight corridors here — Tennessee, New Mexico and North Carolina publish real networks; the high desert west is sparse, and this page does not pretend otherwise.
Cameras run in driving order from Barstow. The segments most worth checking before a drive: Flagstaff's winter storms, the Albuquerque metro, and the Smoky Mountain run between Knoxville and Asheville, where fog and ice close lanes with little warning.

How to check I-40 road conditions
- 1Find your state segment above — segments run in driving order with route-mile ranges.
- 2Read the segment's weather line and plow count when shown; both come from live feeds and appear only when those feeds report.
- 3Tap a camera near your stretch to open its live feed on the map.
- 4Compare the cameras just before and just after a pass, tunnel or metro — conditions change fastest at elevation and at rush hour.
- 5Re-check right before leaving on storm days, and never check cameras while driving.
