Isle Royale National Park Webcams — Live
4 live cameras within 15 km of Rock Harbor, the park’s east-end harbour — Rock Harbor Webcam and the park's own weather. Free, no signup.
Four cameras, all of them the park’s own, on an island with no roads to the mainland and a visitor season barely five months long. The Rock Harbor Webcam watches the harbour where the ferries land; Mott Island, the ranger station island, faces southwest; Greenstone Ridge looks along the island’s basalt spine; and the Middle Islands Passage camera covers the water between.
Isle Royale is one of the least-visited and most-revisited parks in the system — a wilderness of wolves and moose that most people experience exactly this way, through a screen, planning. In winter the park closes entirely and the cameras keep watching an island returned to its animals and its weather.
Best time to watch Isle Royale
Harbour light is the show: sunrise over Rock Harbor in the open season, and Lake Superior weather arriving in real time at the Passage camera. In the closed winter months the wall is a solitude instrument — check it after a storm for the ice coming in.
Sun times are computed for the park's coordinates (48.12, -88.55) in its local timezone — astronomy, not a forecast. Pair them with the live weather above before you plan around them.

Every card is the camera's real live feed: snapshot cards refresh about every 15 seconds, stream cards play live in the grid (a few at a time, the same budget the map tiles use) and in full when you open a camera. Feeds are provided by their operators and public sources; a camera whose stream has gone off air shows as unavailable rather than playing a recording.

How to use the Isle Royale wall
- 1Start with the named cameras: the highlights at the top of this page are the wall's anchor viewpoints — open them first for the park itself.
- 2Read the weather like a ranger: the live conditions panel and the cameras together beat any forecast — if the gateway is clear and the viewpoint is in cloud, believe the cameras.
- 3Use the sun times: sunrise and sunset at the park are computed on this page for today. The famous views are edge-of-day views; plan the open around them.
- 4Check the approach, not just the destination: entrance and corridor cameras in the wall show the road you will drive, an hour before you drive it.
