Cameras on your route to Alta

Enter where you're driving from and we'll line up every live camera along the way — the passes, the canyon mouths and the valley roads — in the order you'll pass them. No account needed.

WorldEye's live index holds 1,051 cameras around Alta — resort feeds, town cameras and the highway cameras on the corridors into Little Cottonwood Canyon, all watchable free below and on the globe. The biggest clusters are in Utah, Salt Lake City, Intermountain Medical Center, Utah Valley Hospital, Heber Valley — the grid starts at the mountain and works outward, so the slope and base feeds come first.

Read the rest of the page the way you'd plan the day: conditions and official alerts, then the resort cameras for snow and lift lines — snow-stake cameras lead that grid, because the stake is the overnight snowfall answer — then the road cameras on the corridors around Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Alta sits at the head of Little Cottonwood Canyon, southeast of Salt Lake City, and is one of the oldest ski areas in the United States — its first lift turned in January 1939. It is also one of only three American resorts that prohibit snowboarding, and its skiing is famously steep and fall-line, spread across two drainages: Collins Gulch and Albion Basin.

The canyon wrings more than 540 inches of snow out of an average season, and Alta's reputation rests on what that snow covers — the Baldy chutes, the long pitches off the Collins and Wildcat lifts, and tree skiing that stays cold for days after a storm. The cameras on this page watch the base areas and the canyon road below them.

Road conditions to Alta — the drive in

State Route 210 climbs Little Cottonwood Canyon from Sandy, in the southeast corner of the Salt Lake Valley, straight to Alta's base areas. The road is crossed by dozens of avalanche paths and carries traction restrictions during storms — the road cameras on this page matter here.

Alta webcams — FAQ

How many live cameras are there at Alta on WorldEye?+
17 cameras within 10 km of the Alta base area, plus 1,034 traffic and road cameras within 40 km — all from the same live catalogue that powers the WorldEye globe, and all listed on this page.
Can I see road conditions for the drive to Alta?+
Yes — the traffic cameras below watch the access roads and valley corridors around Little Cottonwood Canyon. WorldEye shows you the roads themselves rather than an official conditions report, and the route tool on this page lines up every camera along your specific drive, in the order you'll pass them. For chain laws and closures, check the official DOT as well.
Can I check the cameras along my whole route to Alta?+
Yes. Enter your starting address in the route tool above — the destination is already set to the resort — and it plans the drive and lists every live camera within 2.5 km of the route, ordered by how far into the drive each one is. It works without an account.
Are the Alta webcams free to watch?+
Yes — browsing this page needs no account, and every feed here is the camera's real live stream or snapshot from its operator. A camera whose stream has gone off air shows as unavailable rather than playing a recording.
When should I check — the night before or the morning of?+
Both. The night before, the slope cameras show the storm total and whether the grooming fleet is out. The morning of, check the base for lift lines and the access-road cameras before you leave the driveway — the drive is half the ski day.
Where do I find the official Alta snow report?+
WorldEye doesn't publish its own snow report — the cameras and the conditions block on this page show what's actually on the ground. For Alta's official snow report, grooming report and lift status, use the resort's own channels — lift and terrain status only ever comes from the resort itself.
Is Alta on a multi-resort pass?+
Alta is included in the Ikon Pass programme. Access terms — days included, blackout dates, reservations — are set by the pass programme and change by season, so check the official pass site or Alta's own pages before you travel.
