Redwood National and State Parks Webcams — Live
21 live cameras within 45 km of the parks’ coastal strip — Elk Prairie at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and the park's own weather. Free, no signup.
Redwood is not one park boundary but a 60-kilometre string of federal and state groves along US-101, and the wall follows that shape: a 45 km radius over the coastal strip. Four park-service cameras anchor it — Elk Prairie in Prairie Creek, where Roosevelt elk graze the meadow the camera watches; the Kuchel Visitor Center on the beach at Orick; Bald Hills above Redwood Creek; and Jedediah Smith at the northern end.
Between the groves, the wall fills with the road that stitches them together — US-101’s Caltrans cameras through Del Norte Coast and Crescent City’s streets. That is the honest anatomy of a Redwood trip: old-growth groves, then highway, then groves again, with the fog deciding what you see at each.
Best time to watch Redwood
Redwood weather is a morning question: coastal fog fills the groves overnight and burns off unevenly, grove by grove. Elk Prairie is the wildlife seat — elk are most active in the cool ends of the day, and the prairie camera shows the meadow before you commit to the drive.
Sun times are computed for the park's coordinates (41.40, -124.03) in its local timezone — astronomy, not a forecast. Pair them with the live weather above before you plan around them.

Every card is the camera's real live feed: snapshot cards refresh about every 15 seconds, stream cards play live in the grid (a few at a time, the same budget the map tiles use) and in full when you open a camera. Feeds are provided by their operators and public sources; a camera whose stream has gone off air shows as unavailable rather than playing a recording.

How to use the Redwood wall
- 1Start with the named cameras: the highlights at the top of this page are the wall's anchor viewpoints — open them first for the park itself.
- 2Read the weather like a ranger: the live conditions panel and the cameras together beat any forecast — if the gateway is clear and the viewpoint is in cloud, believe the cameras.
- 3Use the sun times: sunrise and sunset at the park are computed on this page for today. The famous views are edge-of-day views; plan the open around them.
- 4Check the approach, not just the destination: entrance and corridor cameras in the wall show the road you will drive, an hour before you drive it.
