About Ruka
Rukatunturi — Ruka — is a 492-metre fell and ski resort in Kuusamo, Finland, whose first slope, Eturinne, opened in 1954. Today 41 slopes run on 21 lifts, with snowmaking from some 90 snowguns covering nearly all runs.
Ruka hosts the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup season opener each year, and around it lie over 500 km of cross-country tracks and the southern end of the Karhunkierros trail. The cameras on this page cover the fell and the village at its foot.
