About Shiga Kogen
Shiga Kogen is a ski resort and hiking area in the highlands of Yamanouchi, Nagano, inside Joshin'etsu-kogen National Park. In 1980 an area of 13,000 hectares around it was designated a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserve.
The ski area spreads as a linked plateau of valleys and peaks above the onsen town of Yamanouchi. The cameras on this page sample the plateau and the mountain road that crosses it.
